Treatment and Information about Rosacea

Rosacea is a common problem dermatologists see that affects people at any age. This incurable condition can cause acne-like spots on adult skin. Rosacea can also be mistaken for a severe sunburn, blushing and “rosy cheeks.” The cheeks are prone, as well as the nose.

It is possible to control rosacea. If you have symptoms, talk to your doctor right away for a reference to a qualified specialist. Once you have a diagnosis, you can do some things to control flare ups. You should abstain from alcohol and hot, spicy foods. Stay out of direct sunlight, and wear hats and sunscreen if necessary.

Rosacea is very common with an estimated 45 million people afflicted around the world, including the late actor and director W.C. Fields. There are plenty of people who know what you are going through.

The condition is not contagious. If you are diagnosed, stop smoking, avoid alcohol and try to live a healthy lifestyle. Exercise and get plenty of sleep. Take care of your overall physical and mental health to help manage rosacea outbreaks.
