No matter what stage of life you’re in, creating good skin habits now will help ensure that your skin stays healthier down the line. With these 4 tips, you can get a summer glow while promoting healthy habits all season long:
- Cleanse
It’s disgusting to think of all of the dirt that builds up on your face while you’re at work, working out, or even just out to dinner with friends. Although it might be the last thing on your mind when you get home after a long day, cleansing your skin is one of the best ways to keep your skin wrinkle and blemish free. If you wear a lot of makeup, opt for a cleanser with a built-in makeup remover. Or, if you have sensitive skin, opt for a mild cream cleanser that will rid your skin of toxins without any harsh chemicals.
- Hydrate
The summer is known for sucking all of the moisture from your skin. In order to stay hydrated, apply a hydrating cream on your face both at morning and night. And don’t forget about an eye cream–simply apply it every night before bed. As an added tip, drink plenty of water–your skin will thank you later.
- Protect
Even if you’re not going to be spending the day at the beach or pool, don’t leave the house without wearing sunscreen. Yes, it might sound excessive to some, but even walking from the subway station to the store, could leave you with sun damage on your face and body. Plus, the sooner you get into the habit of wearing sunscreen, the easier it will be to not go without it.
- Scrub
You don’t have to use a face scrub every day, but using one once or twice a week will help improve the circulation of your skin and rid your face of dry skin that’s been accumulating all week long. And, because we tend to wear more sunscreen in the summer, using a scrub will rid your skin of extra oils left by the sunscreen. However, when using a facial scrub, try not to use it around the sensitive skin around your eyes but focus mainly on your t zone.
