When to Consider a Facelift in Rancho Mirage

facelift

When some people are considering getting a facelift, they think that there is a specific checklist that they can consult, check off a few boxes, and then feel absolutely certain that the procedure is right for them and that the timing is right for them. Having this procedure performed is a big decision. The decision is a personal one. While a facelift is a popular surgical procedure, it isn’t right for everyone, and you shouldn’t be fooled by thinking that the only way to achieve a younger look is to undergo surgery. Here are some things that Rancho Mirage residents should consider when determining which procedure is for them and when they should have it performed.

Factors to Consider When Determining What Facial Procedure is Right for You

Each person has different life experiences. These things are going to affect the rate at which they age in different ways than others. For example, an individual who smoked when they were young and throughout much of their early adult life may have a more aged appearance than an individual who did not. An individual who led a healthy lifestyle and took in a healthy diet may look younger than an individual who did not. Exposure to the sun also plays a role in how old a person looks and how healthy their skin is. These life experiences play a role in when the right time is for a person to have a surgical vs. non-surgical procedure performed in order to enhance their appearance.

A person’s genetics are also important to consider. Some individuals who have what would be considered good genes may not need any surgical procedures until they are in their 50s. And then there are other individuals who may determine to have these procedures done in their younger years because they have seen how the aging process has affected their family members in a negative way when they are on the younger side. Genetic traits like dry or oily skin can also affect how old a person looks.

Many people have found there is usually a sweet spot when it comes to determining the timing for a facelift. Most individuals start to use minimally invasive treatments when they notice the aging process is affecting their appearance. For example, they may use dermal fillers and BOTOX® in a procedure known as a liquid facelift in order to address static and dynamic wrinkles. Some individuals can get away using these things for an extended period of time because they are getting the results they are looking for. But there will come a point when they just aren’t cutting it anymore. While dermal fillers and BOTOX® have their place, they cannot get rid of loose and sagging skin. A person may determine they will have a surgical procedure performed when less invasive treatments are not producing the results that they want to see anymore.

Consider Your Health

To have a facelift performed, you need to go through a consultation with a surgeon. You will likely work with your own doctor as well when determining if now is a good time to have a cosmetic surgical procedure. Some people feel that it is best to have surgical cosmetic procedures sooner than later because they want to have them done when they are in good health. But many people don’t need surgery as soon as they think they do, and the results of minimally invasive treatments are only getting better and better, especially the sooner they are started.

It is good to have a realistic idea of what any procedure will be able to do for you. Multiple studies have been done in order to give a person a good idea of how many years can be taken off of their perceived appearance using a facelift. However, the bottom line is results vary from patient to patient based on a number of factors.

If you are not quite ready to have a surgical procedure like a facelift performed, you may be wondering what other options exist in order to help you improve your appearance. We offer a variety of treatments that can help you to improve your appearance and fight the aging process. Our treatments include lip fillers, dermal fillers, BOTOX®, chemical peels, and more. All of these things can help you to have skin that looks youthful and free of blemishes.
